User Research Findings

WHAT IS IT?

The user research findings document is a short and concise list of user research testing observations, merged with your comments. It is best if you can shorten it to a 2-page summary.

HOW TO USE IT?

Add serious problems and suggestions for what needs to be done in the near future. Limit your comments to 3-4 most relevant, but keep the whole list for yourself.

Add information about:

  • Goals
  • Tasks
  • Participants
  • Findings
  • Recommendations
  • Next steps
  • Deciding factors
  • Time/Budget
  • Presentation of Results
  • Company Culture / Industry Stakeholder Involvement

Segment the comments:

  • Distinguish between the worst,
  • minor problems,
  • positive findings,
  • and suggestions for product updates.

Include positive findings and main areas for improvement.
There are no specific rules or playbooks to follow. Create a report that works for the client and their situation.
